I'm falling . . .

After an extended dry period here in the Pacific North West, the rain has returned. Chilly mornings, fog, drizzles. Nevertheless, crosswords need to be constructed.

In case any of you wondered why I have not posted many crosswords recently, I have been waiting word on the health and future of the small town paper that used to publish my puzzles. It appears the paper has ceased publication. Thus, I no longer have the biweekly deadline that encouraged me to construct seasonal and holiday-related puzzles.

This puzzle is a "word chain" puzzle. The circled letters (if you answer them correctly) will show a pattern based on the vowel sound in the words from top to bottom.
