What are you waiting for?

They escaped from Egypt after hundreds of years of slavery. They entered their promised homeland after many years of wandering through the wildness. They were taken as captives by their enemies to the east and returned to their homeland only after years of exile. The Roman Empire colonized their homeland and made them vassals of Caesar. For years and years, for generations they waited for a Messiah who would rescue them. Prophets told them that a Messiah would come, but the people didn't know when he would arrive.

The season of Advent begins with a focus on the Old Testament prophesies that pointed to the Messiah. My crossword this week features the key word that represents the expectation that the Messiah would come "in God's time." [See 56-Across]
