Seasonal Attitude Adjustment

As the days get shorter (up here in the Northern Hemisphere anyway) and the weather gets gloomier (up here in the Pacific Northwest anyway) I need to adjust my attitude and remember the old Gospel song "Count Your Blessings."

It's a good thing that President Lincoln, even in the midst of the Civil War, saw fit to establish a national holiday "as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to the beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens..."

I hope my annual tribute in this crossword puzzle serves as a timely reminder to us all.
