Fair warning: US election season is full of semantic and logical problems. As a professional linguist I struggle to listen to the rhetoric and to read the OpEd essays day after day. So I dedicate this crossword to Gobbledygook in the hope that it helps us appreciate the power of language and motivates us to use words carefully.

I admit that the puzzle has its share of difficult clues, but I trust you can appreciate all the twists and turns between the clues and the answers.
